Kiilto Airblock Coat
Coating against air leakages
One-component, waterbased, solvent-free liquid sealing agent that is applied with a high-pressure sprayer or roller on vertical, horizontal and roof surfaces.
Special features
- extremely elastic coating for sealing air leakages
- liquid, paintable
- for sealing walls and roof
- for sealing wall, floor and roof junctions as well as joints in interior areas
- tested and approved radon barrier
Materials
Application
A sprayable and rollable, extremely elastic, ready-to-use sealant against air leakages. For interior use. Also proven to prevent radon diffusion. Excellent adhesion to various types of substrates. Easy to apply. Suitable for wall, floor and ceiling surfaces. May be used to bind mineral wool fibres. If asbestos removal is not possible and the material containing asbestos is in good condition, it can be coated with Kiilto Airblock Coat. Any materials containing asbestos should be indicated in the drawings. Kiilto Airblock Coat is suitable for unheated, for interior use.

Instructions for use
Remove all impurities that may impair adhesion, including loose particles, dust, dirt and salt deposit. Fill in dents and holes. Porous substrates may be primed with diluted (1:1) Kiilto Keraprimer.
Mix Kiilto Airblock Coat before use. Apply at least two even coats of Airblock Coat. The second coat can be applied right after the first one (wet on wet). Follow the instructions on the amount to be applied and consumption. Drying time depends on prevailing conditions and layer thickness. We recommend that the surface be coated (e.g. painted). When left uncoated, the product’s mechanical and UV light resistance are limited.
Kiilto Airblock Coat can be used with Kiilto Butyylinauha butyltape or Kiilto KeraSafe Saumanauha sealing tape, if needed.
Tool: roller or sprayer
Sprayer requirements: piston or diaphragm pump, suitable for normal latexes, nozzle size 0.017″…0.019″, pressure 160–180 bar. Wear personal protective equipment when spraying.
A WALL TREATED WITH KIILTO AIRBLOCK CAN BE:
1. Left as the final surface.
2. Painted with standard water-based finishing paint suitable for indoor use, e.g. Tikkurila Luja or Teknos Trend.
3. Smoothed with Kiilto Pro LM or Kiilto Pro LW plaster and painted over.
A FLOOR TREATED WITH KIILTO AIRBLOCK CAN BE:
1. Tiled if the floor is sufficiently straight and even. Tiles are placed straight on the Kiilto Airblock surface, without using a primer. Use Kiilto Floorfix DF or Kiilto Floorfix DF Rapid floor adhesive.
2. Covered with loose lay parquet or laminate, checking first whether the floor is sufficiently straight and even.
3. Levelled with self-levelling adhesive if you want to add coverings (either glued or loose lay) such as plastic flooring, tiles or vinyl plank flooring (excluding parquet glued to the substrate). The Kiilto Airblock surface to be levelled must be free of any materials that reduce adhesion. Before levelling, the surface of Kiilto Airblock Coat is primed with Kiilto Pro Fix Primer. Use Kiilto TopPlan DF smoothing compound up to 10 mm, and if you need a thicker layer, Kiilto Floor Heat DF levelling screed or Kiilto Tasoflex floor levelling compound. The Kiilto Airblock surface to be levelled must be free of any materials that reduce adhesion.
Minimum thickness of levelling material:
Room of light traffic, such as residential areas 5 mm.
Rooms with medium traffic, such as offices and meeting rooms 10 mm.
